In the last couple of years I have learned that you need your head and heart to lead an agency. There were moments that I was more focused on logic and rationale, for several reasons; like peer pressure, afraid of the implications or simply lack of knowledge. And those are the decisions that I regret the most.
Intuition, an enigma nestled deep within the human psyche, has long been considered a mysterious force guiding actions and decisions. It plays a vital role in navigating complex decision-making processes. In the world of leadership, where logic and rationality often dominate, women are heralding a new era, harnessing the power of intuition. By harnessing their feminine power and trusting their intuition, women can truly excel as leaders and drive positive change in their organizations. / They offer unique perspectives, innovative thinking, and a collaborative approach that is reshaping company cultures and driving success.
Tap into your intuition
A (digital) agency is a fast-paced environment. Everything moves full speed and decisions are made in a heartbeat. In such an environment it is hard to find time to consult your head and heart for impactful decisions. In fact, it is pretty damn hard!
I believe that high performing agencies are run by people who lead with their heart, soul and intuition. Now, after several years in a leading position, I dare say that I see myself as a positive leader that draws from the heart. Yet I do not allow feelings or emotions to control my executive decisions. I know that I can rely on a combination of knowledge, experience and intuition.
If you can tap into intuitive insights, navigating complexities with boldness and an unwavering sense of purpose, it will elevate your team and business. It allows you to connect deeply with others and make rational decisions that are also empathetic and compassionate. I strongly believe that the power of intuition is not a luxury, but a necessity in fostering innovation, cultivating empathy, and nurturing inclusive environments.
I’m still learning and struggling to follow my intuition when it comes to hard and complex decision making. Especially when it comes to choices that directly impact people. Over the past year I have learned - supported by my coach Jeroen Katee - to allow yourself to follow your instincts and open your mind to invite your natural intuition to amplify itself. You can trust that the answers lie within you. Use your intuition as a compass, guiding you toward impactful decisions.
