We partnered with Eye as a strategic and technical partner to translate this vision into a scalable digital platform.
The project
Eye Film Museum wanted to move beyond a traditional website and create a digital platform that reflects its role as the Netherlands’ cinematic memory. The ambition was to extend the museum experience into the digital space and make its vast film archive accessible, inspiring, and future-proof.
We partnered with Eye as a strategic and technical partner to translate this vision into a scalable digital platform. Starting in 2022, we designed and built an environment that connects films, stories, events, and archival content in one coherent experience.
The platform balances complex archival needs with modern user expectations, serving film professionals, educators, and the general public alike. It is built as a long-term foundation that continues to evolve alongside the museum.
From idea to execution
The starting point was a simple question. How can a museum’s digital presence offer the same sense of discovery as a physical visit?
We defined the platform as a place for exploration rather than information alone. From there, we designed a structure that helps visitors find exactly what they are looking for, while also encouraging unexpected discovery through strong visual storytelling and smart connections between content.
This vision was translated into a robust technical architecture capable of handling large-scale archives and high visitor volumes. Through close collaboration with Eye, continuous iteration, and a clear roadmap for growth, the platform became more than a website.
