For Elfi, the focus was on clarity and consistency rather than experimentation. Instead of exploring many future scenarios or advanced prototyping, we worked from a clearly defined housing proposition and translated it into a strong, usable digital foundation.
The project
Elfi is a housing developer and rental service focused on sustainable homes where tenants can live comfortably and affordably. Elfi creates modern rental homes across more than 24 locations in the Netherlands, combining sustainable design with everyday living comfort. Users can explore available homes, learn about services, and manage their tenant experience online.
Elfi needed a digital platform that matches its ambition. One that allows visitors to discover homes, understand the services available, customise their rental experience, and manage their housing journey in a personal way. The platform also needed to support Elfi’s internal workflows and ongoing community growth.
Our task was to translate this vision into a clear brand and a scalable digital experience that supports tenants from their first visit to long-term living. The platform had to feel welcoming, intuitive, and reflective of Elfi’s focus on sustainability and personal choice.
From idea to execution
We started with brand and strategy. Together with Elfi, we defined a positioning that reflects sustainability, simplicity, and human-centered living. This foundation guided the visual identity, tone of voice, and digital experience.
From there, we designed the UX and UI to support clarity and ease of use. Home discovery, service information, and tenant communication were structured to feel intuitive and supportive rather than complex.
We then developed the full platform as a scalable foundation that can grow with Elfi’s housing portfolio. The result is a digital experience that supports the full rental journey, strengthens the brand, and helps residents feel at home before they even move in.
