The focus was on creating an open and inclusive digital platform that supports storytelling, participation, and multiple perspectives.

The project

Amsterdam Museum tells the story of the city through its people. Not as a single narrative, but as a collection of voices, opinions, and experiences that reflect Amsterdam’s diversity.

The museum wanted a digital platform that supports this mission. A place where objects, stories, and contemporary themes come together, and where visitors are invited to explore, reflect, and participate.

The challenge was to design a platform that makes complex social and historical topics accessible, while leaving room for dialogue and different viewpoints.

From idea to execution

Together with Amsterdam Museum, we defined digital as a space for conversation rather than explanation. The platform needed to invite exploration, encourage reflection, and allow multiple perspectives to exist side by side.

We translated this into a clear content structure and an intuitive UX that connects objects, stories, and themes across time. The design supports openness and accessibility, making it easy for visitors to navigate between history and the present day.

From there, we developed a flexible platform that supports exhibitions, collections, and ongoing storytelling. One that can grow with new stories, new voices, and new societal conversations.

The result is a digital platform that reflects Amsterdam as it truly is. Layered, diverse, and always in motion.
