The two biggest techno brands in Europe, Awakenings & Time Warp, are joining forces with the new concept Connect. The identity of the event has to connect these two major brands, consist of a confident graphical identity that is based on a system and sustainable of the years. For the logo it was important that it represents unity and connection.
The Hermann Grid was used to create (visual) connections which, at first glance, do not seem to exist. A reference to the overall concept; optical illusion. We wanted to trick the brain into seeing connections which may or may not be real. We used color, light and patterns to create images that differ from objective reality. The result is a persuasive pattern that stands out in the mass.
Online the goal was to hype the event, grow the amount of pre-registers and generate ticket sales. This hype is achieved by following a strategy that was focused on standing out in an original way, creating mysterious content and try to minimise traditional online advertising.
